No router
i've had my fibre-optic upgrade before Christmas, yet I still haven't received a router.
it's extremely hard work trying to get their bot talk to understand this, is there a phone number that I can ring

Sounds like you're already calling it. All calls will start automated (aka 'the bot') which may offer you the online help route or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and sometimes saying nothing when asked the reason for the call helps being put in the queue for an agent.

@Luton1988 Are you also expecting or where told you are getting a new sky Hub, what you had may have been well enough for the connection that you are on, upgrading to a FF Full Fibre speed connection is NO Guarantee that a new sky Hub is required!

it was the engineer who came and installed the fibre-optic box who set, who said a new router should have been delivered
I did have a delivery, but it was just for a LAN cable only

@Luton1988 Then you got what was needed for the connection, the Lan cable delivery is it. If you already have the sky Broadband Hub that is the black upright one no need for anything else, linked below the hubs if you are not sure, click and see them!
