No new Broadband Router - told I could be without Fibre for weeks.

Hi,

Recently upgraded to Full Fibre as a long standing Sky customer. Final appt on 8th Sept for the internal work to be complete for the broadband.

BT Openreach turned up Friday (3 weeks early) out of the blue and completed internal work. Fibre is now active but I have no new router from Sky and my existing sky broadband has been cut off.

Numerous phone calls to customer services and am told it is an IT issue and they cannot send me a router until the system moves from pending, which could be weeks! My wife and I work from home, with 2 children on school holidays. No Internet is not an option.

What are my options? I need a router in the next 24 hours before I leave Sky for good - all I need is a router sent to me.

Gavin

A side question - would a Sky SR102  router work in the interim?

An SR102 does not (as far as I know) have a WAN port, so no, that wouldn't work.  A 110/115 (Q Hub) should, while the 203 (Sky Broadband Hub) is the hardware designated for FTTP.

Sky Glass 55" (on ethernet) & two Stream Pucks (one ethernet / one WiFi)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2
