New sky used

I am a new customer and I go live on the 30 July my new sky hub has arrived today and it has been used and duty I have contacted sky they have told me to wait until activation day then phone them and they will send me a new one has anybody had this problem the person I spoke to was not very professional either

@Edge01 What hub did you get from sky, there is a usage of Returned / Refurbished units to existing / new customers, i myself recieved a SR203 back in early Mar 2025 as a returning customer, it did work fine was on the network about 10 weeks just to be sure that everything was fine, then packed it back in it's box. 

The only obvious is that you have no idea off the condition, but my original SR was on continuous power from 2019 to 2023 as that is what they are designed to do and anyone inspecting it would have thought it was Brand New! Some of the Re-furb units have been reported on the Forum as in a pretty poor condition, so someone is not doing a good job with respect to that fact! If sky have said wait and they will send you a new, then it may be a stock control issue!

Hub 4.2 it comes duty wasn't even clean got told to live then phone and they will swap it for by the customer service I got was shocking

Also they have told me to go live and phone them on the day and they will send me one out within week

@Edge01 Don't bother to do anything with it, just leave as is and box it up when you get a new one sent, at least if it is all working you have something to connect!

They want me to use that one and then I have to phone them once I am live and they will send me another and then I have to return the used one

@Edge01 It's all free for the returns, just treat it that way, keep the proof of postage, track the package back all the way so you know that sky got it at the delivery centre, then keep all that proof so it does not come back 6 months down the line when the go oops wonder where that is! Just a lot off faffing about your end to organise it all! Then go hastle sky for a credit for all your running about!
