New router nightmare
Got a new router (called to upgrade a mobile and advisor told me a new router would be a great asset).
Knew it would be a disaster setting it up and I was right.
Connected everything. Son and husband come home and the WiFi signal is non existent in the main bedrooms (literally 10m away from the hub).
Phone sky, man makes me uninstall my sky app?? try a load of things... nothing of which is going to extend my WiFi 5 extra metres.
I live in a bungalow. My old router (black) allowed me to lay in bed and not have to use flipping 4G to access the internet on my phone.
But the 'new' white hub that's been set up means everyone in the household tonight is going ballistic because they can't use the internet in the bedrooms.
Absolutely livid. 3 hours on the phone to Sky and now I don't even have a working Sky account/app because they've messed about with it so much.
So basically, how can my old router do the job and the new one be this bad.. oh and why can nobody from Sky explain it/fix it. Good old £87 a month to receive nothing in return.

Re: New router nightmare
@Kimbo1186 I can explain why it is because you new white hub is not a good match to an older property with solid internal walls which I suspect is the case with your bungalow.. 10m of fresh air is no issue but throw in a few brickwalls and you lose almost all of the 5GHz signal.
Now if in the upgrade the agent sold you Sky's WiFi Max bundle if you call them Sky will send you an extender pod to install halfway between the hub and the bedrooms which might work. If yhat doesnt Sky will send out an engineer to see if up to 2 more pods might help.
A few customers have convinced Sky to let them return to the older black hub but it is against policy as even if you reject WiFi Max you keep the white hub so it isworthbasking.
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode
