New junction box and ONT
I understand you do not need to be in when openreadch instal the junction box. So you have much say into it. What about the ONT, is it the sky engineer who does the instal and you can decide where you want it. Also how long are the cables. Power socket will be two mts away. I understand extension cable with double socket can be used? Getting quite stressed about it but sooner or later I have to uograde might as well do it now.

Re: New junction box and ONT
@marie4148 there are limitations on the cable run from the external CSP box to the ONT as fibre cables are not thst flexible so for example cznnot be bent into a right angle. The engineer doing the internal install who can bbe from Sky or maybe from Openreach, or another company should discuss with you wherecyou want the ONT and agree if that is practical. You can easily power the ONT by use of a mains extension lead. By default the Eyhernet cable from the ONT to the hub is quite short but in practice that can be replaced by a longer cable if you want the hub elswhere. You can buy Ethernet cables pretty much anywhere.

Re: New junction box and ONT
The ONT is an internal device so someone needs to be in to supervise its installation. Typically the installer will prefer to put it on the inside of the wall where the CSP (external box) is on the outside but they do carry 20 metre fibre optic pigtails as standard: they don't like going through additional internal walls though.
