New fibre installation

I am due to switch to Sky Fibre Broadband from a different provider, with my current provider I already have fibre broadband, therefore will the open reach engineer still need to come in and drill into the outside wall as I have already had this work completed with my current provider?

Who is your current provider?

If you already have an Openreach ONT then there's no need for additional drilling as long as Sky is provisioning the FTTP over an Openreach circuit.

However, if there's CityFibre infrastructure in the area then Sky will provision over that, which then requires a new installation.

Sky cannot provide FTTP over optical infrastructure belonging to Virgin or any altnet ISP other than CityFibre.

I believe that's a private fibre network with a very limited geographical distribution which Sky could not use as they don't have a broadband carriage deal.
