New fiber Line

Sky are offering cheaper fiber broadband than Superfast Broadband. I was told they would need to get a new cable to the house and attach it to a new box on the wall of the house. Does anyone has any pictures of the wire? The Virgin one I see around are not very well hidden. Also what about the box. Can it go on the side of the house? Does it need power and/or a cable to the new router. Would they need to drill any holes into the house to get any cables into the house. The people on the phone didn't really know the answers to these questions. TIA

@Ed+Heppenstall the switch from copper to fibre requires a new cable from the road which can be overhead or under ground broadly it will follow the same path as the existing copper phone line. This site explains what is involved https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/full-fibre-broadband-installation-checklist#accordion-b43... but yes a hole has to be driilled. The new ONT unit will require power as will the router. Openreach are installing many tens of thousands of these connections each week and while some go wrong modt are done tidly.
