Just so you're aware, Ofcom only requires ISPs to consider supply of a UPS where the customer is registered as being vulnerable and there isn't adequate cellular coverage in the vicinity of the address.

Re: New Sky Fibre
I have also had nothing but trouble. I had fibre installed 10 days ago and have spent half of that time with either no internet (wire splice at street box failed) , no WiFi, or no internet. My system hasn't worked properly since installation and every operator I speak to tells me, don't worry there is a problem with fibre not being able to cover the whole house but over time it will get sorted. Or you can sign on to 24 mths for the max system which could work better!
I do not want to spend more money, I was offered fibre at no extra cost however seemingly that means actually having a system that doesn't work. At times I haven't been able to watch TV even through a LAN, have my heating system work properly because of WiFi dropping out, no ring door bell due to the same problem, let alone trying to get my phone onto the WiFi. It is a complete shambles. Then I received a text to say everything is great, can't find a problem!!!
no everything is not great, or working properly. And to top it off, when I said can't I go back to the old system I was told no because we are discontinuing it.
everyone I have spoken to has said there are 'teething issues' with fibre, and given me different solutions - get WiFi max? You do have quite a lot of devices! Maybe that's the issue? Well it wasn't an issue before fibre.
I am totally appalled by the whole thing.
please turn your router off and on again! Yeah, it's the 76th time, that will do it.
no idea what to do next.

Re: New Sky Fibre
@Daisy72 your experience sounds to have been seriously frustrating. Hopefully issues with the fibre connection have been resolved. However your other issues sound to be down to the WiFi coverage being worse.
One common reason for this is that your Sky hub has been moved to be close to your new ONT unit. If that applies consider if it is possible to move the hub to a better position in your home ideally on a surface away from other equipment. If the cable linking the hub to the ONT is too short you can easily buy a longer Ethernet cable locally which won't affect the speed.
The alternative is to invest in better WiFi equipment. Sky will supply up to 3 extenders if you pay for their WiFi Max bundle but I can see why you dont want to do that. My own solution was to buy my own WiFi equipment which cost under £100 and gives decent WiFi coverage through out a three level home and has paid for itself
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode
