Need to get an Ethernet connection into plant room - router is upstairs and some distance away -

Fibre comes into house from loft . Router in lounge and currently need 3 pods to get internet connection round house .  We now need to get an internet connection to our heating system - they have suggested using a TP link with Ethernet cable to the heating control.  I did try using a TP link in past with Sky and I couldn't get it to work - do you think another pod will work - it's quite a way from the router - or am I wasting my time. Please excuse my ignorance but do **bleep** have connectivity with earth other or just router.  Any help will be appreciated

I imagine 'they' were referring to a pair of Powerline networking adaptors: was that what you tried?

Three Max pods is the most that Sky will supply.

Sorry just realised you asked about what I tried before - I can't remember to be honest it was a while ago and now I come to think of it - it may have been just an extender?

@BB28 Something along this line from Tp-Link model wise, AV600 are obsoleted now so dont be fooled into buying them! Cable distance and NO connecting on power strips, direct on the socket only!

The connection to a heating system isn't going to need multiple Mbs of bandwidth.

@TimmyBGood Correct, but the older AV600 wired Ethernet modules are called a day by Tp so old stock or second hand are all that is being shifted now, i used the AV600 but when the One connected on the Hub started after 6 years on continuous operation started messing, could not get a replacement, so stuck one off the AV1000's to replace that and working in AV600 mode with the others! Best you get out off them anyway if lucky is 100Mb/s over distance!

@BB28 Edit:- Does look like they are all back up again, so Tp-Link may have pulled the obsolete notice on them now! AV600 go for it!
