NBA2K25 and Akamai Servers

Hi,

I'm having constant disconnects with NBA2K25 (along with a LOT of other people looking at forums). Everyone seems to think it's a bug/issue with the game but 2K support seem to be pushing people towards there ISP and in this case they're telling me (after a pathping and tracert) that Sky are having issues contacting Akamai contendy delivery servers. (I'm not convinced).

There answer "We’re not able to address that on your behalf, so you’ll want to reach out to your ISP directly to have them remove whatever flag or blocker they’ve got in place on the connection to the Akamai CDN (Content Delivery Network). I would also tell you that some players are able to solve this issue by asking their ISP to change from Dynamic IP to Static IP address."

Is this a thing with Sky or being taken down rabbit holes??

Any help or advice much appreciated!

TC

@WildBob the suggestion of moving to a fixed IP address is frankly ridiculous given many ISPs are having to use CGNAT and other techniques to provide a share of an IP4 address let alone assigning a fixed one given the world supply is exhausted

Do you have a white Sky Max hub? If you have it is likely you are onna shared IP, address. If that applies try enabling UPnP as that should force the share from 8:1 to 1:1 which if it is an issue with IP addreses might sort. The setting is in the My Sky app. In the advanced settings for the hub. The black hubs are not affected.

Like almost every other domestic ISP, Sky Broadband hasn't offered fixed IP, even as an extra-cost option, for many years.
