My complex switching process

Hi all,

I am looking to switch my broadband and landline services to Sky  (I'll assume you all think that is a good idea!) and since every avenue pushes me through the online switching service - One Touch Switch - I wondered if anyone had either the same issue as me or can offer any definitive advice. The current broadband service is with EE and the landline service is currently with BT. The issue I can foresee is that the two services are billed in different names (parents pay one bill, son pays the other). We are happy to consolidate the bills, of course, but when we have tried One Touch Switch in the past with a different provider (which we have since abandoned), this causes an issue. I cannot find any other way to set up this combined service (no phone number or live chat), or any information on the website to ease my concerns with this.
Can anyone help or advice please?

Re: My complex switching process

Hi NewUser

I've just changed from BT/EE to Sky broadband today. The transfer of services from BT to Sky was simple, painless and happend on time.

However it has been a painful  experience trying to integrate the SkyMax router into an existing wired network. The Skymax router has been completely locaked down by Sky making it difficult for users with sophisticated / complex networks to use the product without extensive manual reconfiguration. If all of your devices are wirelessly connected, then you might be ok. Be aware that there is no LAN-side access to the routers webpage, it is all done through the MySky App which is very simple at best. Compared to the EE router it is poor in terms of configuration flexibility.

I will be raising a formal complaint to Sky about the issuess

Regards

Michael
