Moving to Full Fibre help
We haven't used full fibre before but it seems as if we have to go to it by janurary
1 It says they add a box to the outside of the house can we pick which room it will be?
2 Do they need to dig up our garden or will it come from the pole to that box?
3 Will we keep the same landline number? and will being on the new landline interfere with with gaming in anyway.
4 What speed should we go to? my son games an streams I only really do the bare basics myself
5 Do the new routers or outside boxes make any weird noises like huming or static?

That's probably not the case. January 2027 is the end of PSTN (analogue voice service) rather than broadband ceasing on copper circuits: this has caused considerable confusion.
1 It says they add a box to the outside of the house can we pick which room it will be?
Possibly: it's typically at the point where the incoming optical fibre emerges from a duct or decends a wall though.
2 Do they need to dig up our garden or will it come from the pole to that box?
If it's in the UK, putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which broadband provisioning type is applicable.
https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome
It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.
Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.
3 Will we keep the same landline number?
Yes
and will being on the new landline interfere with with gaming in anyway.
No
4 What speed should we go to? my son games an streams I only really do the bare basics myself
IMHO there's little point having FTTP below 100Mbs, but 500Mbs is more than most households actually need.
5 Do the new routers or outside boxes make any weird noises like huming or static?
The outside box is an unpowered enclosure to protect an optical splice point. ONTs are silent.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2
