I am about to have Sky's UltraFast / Gigafast FTTP broadband installed at my home next month.
If requested, will the the Sky / Openreach team who visit home to complete survey and installation of equipment and setup, let me choose to move existing master socket in hallway, into the next door room where it's out of the way?
I currently have aa BT Openreach g-fast master socket in the hallway.
I assume i will need a new FTTP box installed next to the master socket when they come to complete the installation?
Would they let me choose to move the install into the other room on request? If not, what are my options to have someone else do this? Costs?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreFTTP does not use your phone socket. It will become redundant and Openreach will not move it as part of an FTTP install.
You can remove it yourself if you wish once your FTTP service is up and running.
Also note the entry point of your FTTP cable may differ from the existing copper to your home so you may find the FTTP ONT actually gets installed in a completely different location to your existing phone socket.

Thanks!
In theory, i may be possible for me to state a preferene for them to install the ONT box in the other downstairs room v close to current entry point for existing phone line (if its not an issue re new FTTP entry point location limitations)?

Usually some Tea & Biscuits will go a long way to helping your case 😊
