Moving home
3 weeks before moving I tried to contact sky via the app to notify them of the move. Was sent to a page telling me someone would be in contact to sort the next steps. Moving day had then come so I called sky for an update, they knew nothing about me moving and was told I would now have to wait 2 weeks for someone to come out and activate. The following morning I had received a text message to say it had all been cancelled and I needed to call to talk to someone. Whilst on that call I was told my whole contract had been cancelled meaning I now had to order a new one. Made the order got a new activation date to then wake up the following moring to it being cancelled again I called yet again to see why this was. They told me the previous tenant still has an active broadband, now this new property I have moved into has been empty for well over 3 months so that was definitely untrue. I then myself got openreach out to see if there was actually any problems they have confirmed all issues have been resolved and all sky would need to do is send a new router and remove active. I called sky to discuss this they set up my new order again and told me it would be another 2 weeks before anyone can actually come out and even if it's remote activated it would still be the same day. Whilst going through this process my dad had also called on my behalf to try sort it and they had told him I had a £20 outstanding balance, this was untrue as all bills had been paid and contact cancelled. I have now called up to discuss this and asked to talk to a manager which seems like the hardest thing in the world to get through to.
overall this experience with sky has been absolutely awful and off putting. As a customer that has my phone and WiFi with them along with my mothers 20 year loyalty I would expect a lot more from such a big company.
After requesting for a call back from a manager I was told petar taksharov (Bulgaria office) was not interested and would not be giving me a call back.
I also have the recording of the last call to take matters further.

Just for information: a broadband circuit is 'active' if the subscription is being paid: whether or not the property is occupied and/or a router is connected doesn't change that.
Sometimes the one-touch-switch system isn't applicable and the previous occupant doesn't manually cancel.

Re: Moving home
@Rgleed the issue with the previous tenant is unusual as most people dont contine to pay when they leave so the connection gets cancelled. However while there is a live connection Openreach will not accept an order from an ISP which is why your order on Sky gets cancelled. It could be a mix up but unfortunately there is little you or Sky can do.
Is there another network you could use like Virgin Media or is mobile broadband an option?

Re: Moving home
I personally got openreach out they had confirmed it was a few wires that were removed. This has now been replaced and everything is up and working no reason why sky should be cancelling. Openreach had informed me it was starange that nobody was offered to come out and look rather than just keep cancelling.
