Moved house but WiFi location shows at the old house
We moved house 16th December and sky came out the following day to install the new line into the house. Boradband works perfectly but whilst on the WiFi our location is shown at our old house, if we switch to mobile data (turn WiFi off) our location pings to our new house instantly.
This is annoying as we have devices such as the thermostat that go off location and they keep thinking we aren't at home!
I though it would right its self after a few days but it hasn't yet.
What can be done about this?
Thanks

@Carl117 Did you change the sky Hub at the new location with the new wifi that was installed or keep the old hub connected to the new install?

Re: Moved house but WiFi location shows at the old house
@Carl117 location on broadband is never as accurate as mobile data which can use the GPS facility in most phones. Depending on the app there are various ways location can be determined but a rough location can be determined from the IP address Sky issues. Go to "what is My IP address to see that. There are location settings on many devices you can change for each app to allow you to share location. In summary this isnt something Sky directly control..
Your thermostat issue is weird as the system should see you are connected to the home wifi and never need to use the location. I suspect there is a setting in the app thst needs updating as it is still set to your old address.

We had to keep the the original Hub as sky wouldn't provide a new one.

Re: Moved house but WiFi location shows at the old house
That doesn't make sense. If we moved from one end of the country to the other then being on the home WiFi shouldn't say I'm at the old address. Fortunately we have only moved one street away so the location isn't that far off.
The thermostat has geo fencing and knows when you're over 500ft away and turns into away mode. I have disabled this feature for now though.

'Wifi' has no idea where you are: online location services are trying to extrapolate that from available information (and router location isn't one of them because an ISP cannot share that data)
Fortunately we have only moved one street away so the location isn't that far off.
Then that's a fine-grain move which is actually harder to spot.
