Move hub to another room
My open reach connection (copper) is currently located in the hallway. Currently I have the sky hub connected to the port which is working fine. However I have Ethernet ports located next to it which are connected through my entire house via a switch. Ideally I would like to move the hub into another room, as it's very much in the way right now.
I have purchased some RJ11 to RJ45 cables to connect the open reach port to the RJ55 port and then the opposite in another room, however the hubs internet light does not come on when I do this.
Am I just using the wrong cable here? Or is it not possible?

Re: Move hub to another room
@Choppy474 your hub connects to the Openreach master socket using a DSL modem cable which has a RJ11 connector on each end. If your socket only has a standard phone jack socket then you need a filter which has a rj11 socket. RJ45 connectors are used on ethernet cables which are not used to to connect a hub to a partial fibre connection. DSL modem cables can be bought at most hardware shops but keep the length to not more than 10m if you need more consider paying Sky to move the master socket.

Essentially, yes: RJ11 to RJ45 doesn't preserve the required pin-out configuration, and you cannot pass such traffic through a switch.
In theory you might be able to take off an RJ45 faceplate and create a straight-through cable with some careful splicing.
