@WhitbyLad

Tp link would have an 80% chance of authenticating via dhcpv6 prefix delegation as it doesn't support dhcp client identifier option 61

For best results if you want a dedicated  wifi mesh to replace the sky hub look at the asus zen wifi xt8 and xt9 etc as they support both authentication methods

Re: Most simplest way to upgrade Sky Router

Thanks @cookiemonsteruk

Would I get the details from the current Sky router, and input them into the Asus equipment, and that should just work?

Looking on Amazon, the XT9 seems to come as a two pack - I presume one is the router, and the other an extender/mesh?

Thank you

Unlike netgear which has a dedicated rbr and rbs model asus allow either  model to be used as a router or satellite/mesh node

Simply plug the asus into the ont and enter client identifier option 61

anything@skydsl|anything

And set the other units up using the aimesh settings

@WhitbyLad all 3 Deco units deliver wifi one on each level giving reasonable speeds (200Mb/s min in the furthest rooms 500Mb.s in the main area. The ethernet link is only there to connect to the Sky hub. This set up gives better speeds than the Sky Wifi Max set up of the Sky Max hub and 2 extenders but my house is not a simple to network so key is placement of the base unit.

My M4 Deco are fairly cheap version and you can get faster versions at higher prices loads of options around
