Mesh causing slow Wifi

Hi

I have a sky router, sky Q main tv box and 4x sky Q mini boxes

all connected wirelessly as Ethernet connections not possible

having issue that when my devices switch from the main router to the hotspots from the Tv boxes the speed drops massively so connection is really poor

i have currently unplugged from the mains all of the mini boxes to see if better and speed is better but of course connection is worse the further I get from the main router plus I can't watch TV in any of the other rooms as the mini boxes are unplugged!

can I disable the WiFi hotspots on the mini boxes but still use them for Tv viewing?

or any suggestions on how to make the mesh be more effective without Ethernet cabling (not possible and I've tried powerttrain connections but we just have too many wireless devices that cannot be cable connected)

any suggestions welcomed as sky Helpdesk are a waste of space and have literally no idea what they are talking about!

thanks

simon

@simontaylor77 as far as I know you cannot disable the hotspots while allowing TV viewing. When I had Sky Q I solved the problem by using powerline adapters which use the mains wiring to carry the signal from the hub to the two most distant Q minis - you connect the adapters by ethernet cables thst comes in the kit.

This improved the backgaul connection sorting the TV viewing and improved the wifi speeds from the hot spots.
