Low download speed

I recently changed to full fibre 500 and my download speed is averaging around 170mbps. The speed is same over ethernet or wifi. Sky have said everything is fine and speed at the hub is around 450.

I'm using the sr203 hub and house is wired with cat6 cable throughout.

@bcfc1979. If testing over ethernet check nothing else is using the connection while the test is running - dont assume nothing is as other devices are idle many use downtime to run updates etc. Run tests only over direct connections if possible as switchescetc can influence speeds if they are the managed type.

What speeds does the Connection Checker in the My Sky app show? That should give you the history from their daiily test for the last few weeks if you click through  and in my experience these are under estimates of my connections speed. Sky use these figures in determining line performance and it is difficult to get them to accept your own test results.

Re: Low download speed

On the my sky app it says everything and fine and as a good history of speed to the hub.

I have one unmanaged switch on my network but even if I disconnect everything and plug a laptop direct to the router the speed is way too low. Obviously Sky say everything is OK as they see an acceptable speed to the hub. But no way should anyone else be paying for 500mbps and getting 150mbps on a daily basis.
