Landline switch sky to vodafone

I plan to switch from Sky to Vodafone for my broadband and phone as the price increase makes it too expensive.  I have to cancel within 30 days to avoid a penalty. There are five days left.  Sky say if I cancel today  I will lose my landline number and should call my new provider.  Anyone know how long that would take?  ie will it be within the 5 days left to cancel FOC  Tks

Don't do it. I have just left Vodafone Broadband after 10 days and rejoined Sky Broadband. Sky have lost my landline number as they forgot to port it over. I'm now having to call everyone with a new number.

Sky want £51 for broadband plus anytime calls. Vodafone is £34.

@noall  Not everyone has the same experience when moving to a different ISP. I moved over to odafone a year a go and had no issues with them at all. Seen others coming the other way also.

I have ordered the switch and spoken to Sky. Hopefully I will keep my number,

@BobwIf during the switch process that you asked to keep your number unless something happens and Sky say no I would ask the reason.
