Re: Joining SKy
Hello, @KJ1963
If you like to join sky only for broadband, Once you checkout it will ask you to do the steps! If you get stuck on it, Ring up sky and they'll sort you out!

Re: Joining SKy
@KJ1963 when you order a broadband service from an iSP like Sky they will check if there isxa City Fibre or Openreach fibre service in your road. Often these days that requires a new full fibre line to be installed into your home even if there was an old copper telephone line. If full fibre is not available in most areas a copper line can be run if one is missing but that is rare.
Although you are dealing with Sky installing the new connection is down to the network operator even in cases where Sky's own staff do the work as unlike Virgin Sky dont own the networks they use. How long that takes depends on many things but in most cases can be completed in a couple of weeks. However if you use the one touch switch system and dont cancel with Virgin yourself your old connection will stay live until the new one is in place. Sky will handle communications with Virgin.

Re: Joining SKy
There needs to be a cabled data bearer circuit on either the Openreach or CityFibre networks: 'landline' is an increasingly obsolete phrase.
