Issues with ipv6-first

Since Monday I have been having problems with my internet and having done some reasearch it would seem that sky have upgraded their routers to something called IPV6 first.

On my phone and laptops the internet can drop or take a few minutes to get a connection when I get home as an example, and only my work laptop it has just stopped working all together and my IT team say that they work around ipv4 and will now need to look at their infrastructure, but this may take some time.

in the meantime I have had to dig out an old wifi booster that gives both ipv4 and ipv6, but doesn't have the greatest speeds when connected to my works vpn, probably around 3-5mb

Has anyone else had any problems at all?

@scotsy0727 What sky Hub do you have, nothing to do with the iPv6 implemented by sky, been using since Mar25 when back from EE, so would have spotted an issue way before now!

this one. I read somewhere that they were rolling out ipv6 first so I thought it could be that.

Re: Issues with ipv6-first

@scotsy0727 Well mine had it on the get go way back in march, you can disable it if you wish to try, you just need to use the web manager, 192.168.0.1 will get you there, if you are using a phone then best off luck, laptop will be way better, Think you will find it in advanced, NO SR203 connected but may have some screen captures if i need to look!

Re: Issues with ipv6-first

I'm on my laptop and in the router settings, under Adanced I cant see anything close to NO SR203. If you have screenshots that may help.

Re: Issues with ipv6-first

Got me to what I needed to try but unfortunately did not work to get my work laptop connected to the router.

Dont think its an issue with Sky, but with my work instead.

@scotsy0727 How are you connecting your work laptop, via Ethernet or only on a wireless wi-fi connection!

I have tried both WIFI and Ethernet and neither work.

Re: Issues with ipv6-first

So turns out the issue was infact the router. I have had Sky replace it and the issue has resolved itself.
Very strange considering the old router worked on everything except the two work laptops, but the new one is working fine.

Re: Issues with ipv6-first

@scotsy0727 As i said way back at the start iPv6 has been on the sky hub's for yonks, and if there had been an issue i would have spotted it long time ago.
