Hi All, hopefully someone can help me with this one, just changed over from Plusnet to Sky, the line transferred just after midnight. I had logged into my new sky router beforehand using chrome on a windows laptop and changed the SSID and Password to be the same as the plusnet box (which has been the same SSID and Password I have used for many years due to multiple smart home devices, echo dots etc) it is a BTHUB6-xxxx SSID if that makes any difference.
On the first try I had the box ticked to synch 2.4 and 5gHz - None of my devices would connect, Android phone says saved/won't automatically connect, windows laptop treating it like is a new network and asking for the password again, checked all the details were correct unless it was a typo. No joy, reboot the hub, no joy, reset the hub and tried again no joy.
Split the bands named the 2.4ghz to be as per my previous router and left the 5ghz as the default SKY, connection the the default SKY is no problem and the speed is good, I can see SSID and password are correct in the 2.4ghz but nothing is connecting to it, I really don't want to have to log in to every device we own to change the SSID etc as the smart lights will loose all their scenes and links with Alexa... Any help would be appreciated!

Update on this, I installed a tp link ap and all is now well, no idea why it wouldn't work on the sky router but the ap was easy to set up.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Craig333 what you describe should work assuming the changes were applied correctly which you can check by going back into the web interface. I have been doing the same when I get a new router for years without issue. .
Do check a rogue character has not snuck in. It maybe worth resetting the Sky hub by pressing and holding in the reset pin until, the power light flashes which can take well over 10 seconds. That will clear the memory properly as it msy have got corrupted. Then try again from scratch.

thanks, I have tried that, but the same problem persisted, I have wiped it and started again 3 times, currenlty with the bands split I can see the 2.4 band with my old, desired settings, while logged into the 5ghz band, I can see the information is correct but cannot fathom why the devices won't connect to that network, worst case scenario I will plug in a configured access point
