Is Gigafast just marketing?

Hi, I've had Gigafast since the start of it.  I usually get around 920mbps but apparently for the last 30 days (at least) I'm getting just over the guaranteed 600mbps.  Since that is the guarantee I've not got any leg to stand on.  So my question is does anyone actually get 1gigabit on Sky at all, or is it just marketing?  If I go down a package it will guaratee 400, and then I guess that is what I'll get nowadays.  Just feels that they've toned it down, which seems wrong. I've called them, but since it's at over 600 I've got nowhere to turn to.

Re: Is Gigafast just marketing?

I have gigafast and initially I got the full speed, after a firmware update this dropped and made the connection unusable even with 400-600 mbps connection

turned out it was a faulty max hub and since it's replacement it have back to constant gigafast speeds to the hub and also via WiFi

It did take a few frustrating days of trying  the automated system in the app for it to pick up the fault and issue the replacement next day delivery

Re: Is Gigafast just marketing?

Well, I took it upon myself to by a 3rd party router as SKY wasn't too helpful.  Someone in the community had good experiences with the ASUS RT-AX52.  So I bought one.  I wish I had done that months if not years ago.  SOO much better network quality and reach.  And my Mini's work fine so that's all good.   Now I'm back to 920Mbps.
