Internet outage

Our broadband when off yesterday. Service checker says there's an outage in the area and should be fixed in a few days. I've phoned and had an automated message saying there's a problem at the telephone exchange. Checking with BT there is no such issue at the exchange. No one working anywhere doing anything. Im without broadband and sky to services due to this. Im in the BT20 area of Bangor Co Down. Anyone else experiencing this? 
seems ridiculous I can't get anyone on the phone at sky to discuss this.

If there is an issue at your local exchange then there is nothing you can do to speed it up, as a rival ISP BT are unlikely to know of issues with another company.

Thank you, im beyond frustrated as obviously no multi room tvs now work, no laptops for kids homework's or my work, no doorbells or home security. Honestly it brings it home how much we rely on the broadband in the house. Just wish I could get a human to give me some information about it all. Service checker says "outage in area" voice message at customer services says "exchange problem" then cuts off.

Iv been having the exact same issue for a couple of days now. Usually re-connects after about 5-10 mins but today it been off for a couple of hours now. Sky broadband checker says there is an issue but they have problems with their tests and to try again later. Usually everything is spot on.
