Internet keeps dropping after recent switch to fibre
Started working from home in Sept, decided to move to Fibre when it became available in my street and it dropped a couple of times shortly after installation but then was OK. It dropped twice on Friday so I called to get it checked and was told it would be monitored over 7 days. Had a text today (3 days later) to say there is no outside issue and the complaint had been closed. Less than a hour later, it's dropped again. When this happens, the works vpn I have to log onto, won't let me back on so I have to restart the computer. I called Sky again and have somehow been told to upgrade my router (luckily for only an extra £4 so not breaking the bank). I don't know if this is the right thing to do. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? I'm not very technical when it comes to the jargon so I'll need any advice/ questions given to me as if I'm stupid. Thanks in advance.

Re: Internet keeps dropping after recent switch to fibre
@AliW990572 Three things for you to look at, the NEW ONT from OR, Green lights, take a picture when it is all working gives you something to look back at, if you have the Black sky Broadband Hub, 4 green lights on it, they do not block VPN connections, if you want to go the Extra £4 and the sky Max hub, your choice but personally you are wasting your money and going to get more greiff, also see the Linked post 2nd top of the page!
