Internet drop outs

I have a strange issue that has appeared recently and I’m not 100% sure how to fix it.

My wired PC connection appears to “drop out” after a couple of hours, however, all is not just a simple drop out.

I can still access a small number of website that 100% are not cached as I tested this and visited many sites I never visited.

Sites I can still use are:

Youtube – I tried watching random videos that I had never seen or had been recommended to me and they all worked perfectly

britannica.com loads fine, with a few images missing – never been on this site before

Google search works fine

When this issue happens I can’t access my router via 192.168.0.1 until I reset it. Once I have reset the router all goes back to normal and I can’t work out what the issue is.

I tried the other ethernet port on my motherboard, I have a 1G and 2.5G port, both give the same results.

Wireless devices in my house continue to work perfectly

Windows troubleshooter and sky broadband checker both detect nothing.

I use Windows Defender

The most recent software install was Nexus Mod manager directly from the official source but I have removed that as a precaution since this issue started happening.

I’m running the most recent version of windows 10 and I’ve checked that all drivers are updated

I use multiple browsers and they all throw up the same issue (Edge, firefox, brave)

As another strange issue, I can use Youtube perfectly via Brave which is my main browser but it shows up as offline in other browsers

Browser error message “ERR_CONNECTION_FAILED”
