Internet connection dropping out repeatedly

Hi All,

Over the last two days my internet has been dropping out multiple time a day, somtimes multiple times an hour.

I have had no issues with the broadband in the previous year of service and have made no changes that could cause this isssue that i know of.

I have attached a screenshot of my router statistics as i've seen that requested in other threads.

Many thanksScreenshot 2024-09-26 095222.png

@TDH97 the recent bad weather has caused a lot of issues with stability of copper lines. Your stats show a drop some 25 minutes before you took those stats. As yet it does not look like the automatic DLM system has intervened much to stabilise the connection as the noise margin is still only 4.2dB it is likely that will be increased in steps each night with a linked reduction in speed until the line stabilises.

However it is worth running the full connection test in the My Sky app or website to see if it offers an engineer to check your line. If it doesnt you can try calling Sky and reporting the issue but whether Openreach will accept a fault report is not guaranteed as many lines are suffering similar issues often caused by water in joints or wet leaves hitting overhead lines and the DLM has not fullybdone its thing as yet.

Re: Internet connection dropping out repeatedly

Thank you for your reply!

It has been a bit better today, i got a 7 hour run till it happened again so you could well be right with something wrong with the lines. The connection checker comes back all good (annoyingly). I'll see how it plays out for the rest of the day and call Sky tomorrow if it continues.

Many thanks
