Intermittent pixelating/very poor service

After several resets at the mains over the last hour, my sky is constantly pixelating its impossible to watch. Im paying over £100 pm but watching my tv through freeview. Really poor Sky internet and Sky stream puck.

What speed is your  broadband  ? My be you need a faster  broadband service, you can check the speed by going  to  the Netflix app  go to the help  open it go to  check  my network  and run  that to see what speed the puck is getting, you need 25mps to  watch hd channels and  35mps  to  watch in uhd channels

@PK0808 modt likely issue is poor wifi signal to the Stream puck you can test that by running the network test in the Get Help menu of the Netflix app.

 

Poor WiFi coverage is probably the most common question we get in the forum. In many homes a single Sky hub cannot provide a usable wifi signal in every room due to the layout and type of construction of the property especially in older homes. Assuming the hub is in the best possible position which is out in the open on a surfsce then the only answer is additional wifi sources. 

Your choice.is to either buy Sky's add-on WiFi Max bundle which can supply up to 3 extenders see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or buy your own wifi system and use that instead of the Sky hub's WiFi.

Hi Peter

 I have just found the very simple solution to the problem. I was watching an Amazon firestick for a few years, forgot it was there, so unplugged it and bingo all sorted. It was interfering with the wifi signal to the puck.
