Intermittent drop in internet connection

My internet connection keeps dropping. It can be showing 3 or 4 rings on the wifi logo then drop to 1 or zero. This may happen 3 or 4 times a minute. Looking at a web page then select a new page it will say that page needs re loaded. This has happened for a few weeks getting progressively worse. Then the Wifi booster failed. then the main router seemed to fail a couple of days later. I reset both the main box and the extender. This worked however the drop in signal keeps happening. I have a temporary repair by openreach that has been waiting 9 months for a permenant solution.

@Keith190 you appear to be talking about WiFi signal strength which is a separate issue from anything Openreach do about your broadband connection. Wifi signals are affected by interference which can come from a neighbour's WiFi network if its using the same or adjacent channel or more lijely from equipment in your home. Have you got any wireless equipment near the hub or booster? Does the loss coincide with use of something like a microwave?

Re: Intermittent drop in internet connection

Thanks for the response. We are over 50m from nearest neighbour. The equipment has been in the same position for over two years and has worked well. No additional equipment or household appliances have been added.

Re: Intermittent drop in internet connection

@Keith190 Apart from the repair, have you called sky about you Equipment, and you just cannot rule something out as a non change but your booster does rely on a good wireless wifi signal from the sky Hub if that is how your connection is! Dont think you have to worry to much as the distance is far enough away, but you just never know without taking a look at signals around you!
