Intermittent and wildly fluctuating broadband speed

Hi, Thanks for that. I ran the test on the my sky app like you said and it says that my phone and laptop are connected by ethernet and my TV is connected by WiFi. Do you know why this is please? 

On the Fing app the other day I found that my devices were connected to a random wifi signal with no name that I did not recognise. I really don't understand what is going on. Should my devices be connected in different ways like this?

I'm sorry, just ignore that last post about ethernet etc. I just worry about anything that looks a bit odd. I'm.guessing the app is notalways 100% accurate?  ( well at least for device connections anyway) and the wifi signal was probably nothing. Sorry for all the questions.
