I'm looking at purchase a sky booster.

I'm looking at purchasing a secondhand Sky booster box model (Sky SB601 Wireless WiFi Broadband Signal Booster).

Will this be compatible with all Sky WiFi?

@RuralBoy Not sure off that number but if it is a sky Max pod, you will be extremly silly to by from a second hand supplier, not from sky direct to you it will not work at all! See the link below incase you have an idea what you need!

@RuralBoy No it's a ten year old product, only works with the sky Hub, and both are obsolete!

Use this link below if you still have and using the old sky Hub, sky will send you a free replacement!

The only reason I'm looking at buying a booster is because Sky want silly money for their one and you have to sign up a new contract.

I brought a booster from Amazon and it wouldn't connect to the box, hence why I looked for a Sky booster.

@RuralBoy to operate properly you need the booster matched to the hub. If you have a black Sky  Broadband hub you need a SE210 boister - looks like a white version of the hub - legally none can be resold as Sky have only ever supplied these on loan but they can be picked up on auction sites but are poor value imho. The newer white Sky Max hubs can only work with the pods Sky lend as part of the WiFi Max package buying one of these pods doesnt appear to work as Sky have to add it it to your account.

There is a sokution which is to disable the WiFi on the hub and use a third party system like my own TP-Link Deco system where one unit is connected to the hub by Ethernet. This is set-up to operate in Access Point mode and links to 2 other units on different levels. Cost me under £100 so works out cheaper than paying Sky and will work just as well with any ISP I switch to. Losds of choice in systems that can do that assuming you keep the Sky hub as the router. Connecting directly to the line is slightly more complex.

That's early single-band booster hardware which matches the 802.11n  Sky Hub from 2013 (pre-dating the Q television platform) : it's entirely obsolete and potentially inadvisable to use from a security perspective.

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

Your solution sounds very complicated to me. I guess I'm going to have to put up with my current setup.

@RuralBoy not sure whivch post you are replying to however it need not be complicated either ask Sky for a boister which will invove paying for their WiFi Max bundle or buying a thiird party solution. The item you mention would be a very bad buy.
