I've been using a Deco mesh system to improve the internet as the house is big. We had to move to sky stream as sky Q wasn't stable enough. So now we were thinking we could cut the sky router out altogether and use the Deco as the router but it's asking for a username and password. Tried our sky hub name and password and "admin" and the sky hub password but it won't connect to the internet. Called sky they said the hubs don't sign into anything so a username and password doesn't exist. Has anyone replaced the sky router who can tell me what the username and password is? Thanks!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@pgraham04 TP-Link do not support the standard authentication method Sky use in the UK (Ireland is different) which is DHCPv4 Option61 on their Deco systems. If you have full fibre you might be able to connect using DHCPv6 PD which doesn't require a log in string however its down to who made the kit your line uses at the exchange. If you are still on a copper line you would need a VDSL modem
In terms of wifi coverage running the Deco system in access point mode with the Sky hub's wifi turned off will give you the same coverage.. My 3 Stream pucks and Glass TV work perfectly in just such a set up.
