Help getting WiFi

I attempted to get my elderly father connected to WiFi . I received the router and got messages from both sky and outreach that we were good to go. So I attempted but realised there was no accessible outreach box. I connected sky eventually although I might as well spoke to the wall as he was no help at all !! So I had to cancel his order .
I want to speak to someone from sky but it's like I'm going round in circles I'm losing my mind 😳

Hi @Dawnran-

What type of broadband did you order? FTTC or FTTP? Or more likely called Superfast or Ultrafast. This would tell you what type of connection point your looking for in the property (Telephone socket vs ONT).

That would be the one sure way to continue having no broadband.

An order needs to proceed so that the presence or absence of appropriate infrastructure can be established.

Re: Help getting WiFi

Hi

he has a telephone socket next to tv

Open reach box in cupboard but it's not accessible

unsure what sort of broadband I called to enquire and to be honest the advisor spoke so fast and wasn't very coherent.  I explained my fathers home set up and was assured someone would be out to his home but once phone was put down , was told it would all be done remotely

@Dawnran-

OK: in what way is the 'box in the cupboard' not accessible?

Is it plugged into a mains socket with lit LEDs?

If that's an Openreach ONT for an FTTP broadband service then such a location is annoying but not particularly unusual.

If it's in the UK, putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which broadband provisioning type is applicable.

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.

Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.
