Hard wired mini boxes and separate mesh system

Hi all,

For the last 2 years since moving house we've had intermittent issues with Sky connectivity. We've a main Q box, 2 minis and Sky Superfast.

The connectivity with the minis has been solved by hardwiring them but recently the WiFi from the main hub has been playing up.

I can get good signal from either of the mini boxes but standing right next to the main Sky hub we get no connectivity. The systems show good WiFi strength and full signal but we get no connection.

Anyway I'm so sick of Sky that I'm now looking for other options. Sky's hardware seems to be rubbish.

my main question is: can I run a mesh system through the house for WiFi and leave the TV set up wired as it is?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Hard wired mini boxes and separate mesh system

That's what I have and all seems to be fine. People with more technical knowledge than me may comment. There is a theoretical risk of networks interfering with one another but works fine for me.

Yes you can indeed do that. Put your own mesh in, then switch WiFi off on your Sky Q boxes.
