Re: Gigafast plus
@Vickib7 So you have went for the 5Gb/s package on a City Fibre connection to sky is that correct, You will also be on the new sky Hub, and a Fast ONT supply for the Fibre side, can you look at the ONT Lights for any change when you have a problem, and also at the sky Hub to see if you see anything change light wise with it.
With the POD that you have, linking the wireless wi-fi signal to the New Hub, Lights for it if any, and you say that it is Ethernet connected, so to what kind off device is that Pod connected too!

Re: Gigafast plus
Hi, thank you for replying, 4 green lights, last one flashes, ethernet to the new round white hub, constant white light on that, just does not seem to connect in the far bedroom and seems to just drop out, my youngest son has good speed, eldest alot less and daughter none and even right next to the hub we have issues with our pet cam and tv, pet cam just states no internet connection and tv will stated failed no subscription. At the moment I'm feeling like my old internet was better, we have alot connected and my youngest is at university, so wanted a fast reliable internet as the old superfast anytime my son was downloading, I could not catchup or nexflix etc on my sky tv, one thing we have not tried with this new one yet.

Re: Gigafast plus
@Vickib7 The new Gigafast+ hub you have is the sky Premier all singing/dancing one, the POD's are NOT, but they do rely on a good connection to the hub to be effective, so not sure where you have the two with respect to each other, That also goes to the TV where is it in respect to the sky Hub, The way wireless works, say 10' from the hub in your case with the 5Gb/s speed not even sure you will have ONE single device that can even get you up there, but lets say you have a realy good smart phone, then www.fast.com on it and see what you get as an up/down speed test, the further you go away from the hub, the slower the wireless speed test will get!
Try these and post back what you find, just sounds like you need to move the pod a little closer to the hub, and try it! Without the info it is just too hard to say what!

Re: Gigafast plus
@Vickib7 The most important factor on a Hub is it's position, ideally central location to spread the wireless wifi signal around as best it can,
not sitting on a floor, up on a good area space all around it, and if possible not near solid brick walls. This is not always possible to do and sticking Fibre/ONT box on the outside wall, short cable to the Hub from the ONT is a recipes for complete failure, think front off house, and 30' into the front garden!

Re: Gigafast plus
Hi, the fibre comes from our telegraph post, straight to the house, down outside wall in through front door, into our living room, the box on the wall is centre to the house, with hub above on top of a cupboard, it is an old house with solid brick walls not plaster board, but our superfast did not have issues with this, just very slow, everything is connected via WiFi, no ethernets, just the one from the box on the wall to the hub

Re: Gigafast plus
@Vickib7 Good that the hub is central, take it's in the same position then as your older sky Hub. Have you tried the fast.com test from earlier in the post standing close to the hub?

Re: Gigafast plus
Hi, thank you for all your replies, really appreciate it.
Seems like good speed standing next to it, which is strange when my tv and pet cam are in the same room.
I know my daughters xbox said something about not being able to detect the IP address, I can sign her in, get her onto the game, but then it is disconnecting her and her wifi on her tablet does not work in her room, we have tried the booster plug that came with our hub, wireless and wired and it's just the same the light goes off for 20 mins and turns red, then flashes I think blue, turns white and off.

Re: Gigafast plus
@Vickib7 Once the picture you posted is cleared for viewing will take a look at it, do not know much about that wi-fi7 hub apart from the specs as it is so new and not much posted about it on the Forum yet, the pod's if still the same that sky are offering with the unit were estimated to be wi-fi 5 devices and they opened up a 5Ghz seperate backhaul channel, and as far as i am aware NO light is good operation with them so the sequence that you say i do not know as have never used those devices, but would say that i would move it, the pod's ideal position is midway between where you need the wireless wi-fi to be and the hub, but NOT too far away from the hub as it will struggle to connect and pass data accross to the device location.
Homes with solid brick walls are always hard, same for me as the home i have is from the sixties, but to cover everything that is needed and serve all the wifi needs i have two Asus Router's two Asus AI nodes, all operating in mesh, and poweline for the External Ring cameras / doorbell and Garage which is 20M from the home. But the units are all Wi-Fi 6 at best.

Re: Gigafast plus
@Vickib7 If this is indeed a wireless wi-fi signal issue then to cover the basic's sounds like you are going to have to get more pods and the Assistance of a sky Engineer in the placement for them, Mesh is not easy it takes some working out especially when all wireless interconnected devices, it's a balance to what is good/bad for both operation and coverage!
With such a huge down/up that you have on the CF 5Gb/s package then ONT/sky Gigafast+ hub, not sure what they supplied to connect both the devices together cable wise, but it does sound further that the standard patch cable, markings would be on the outside off the cable with it's Cat rating, they go Cat5e, 6 7 8 etc, Quality off cable will matter, but you are not complaining off all disconneting at once....
