Gigafast+ 5

Had a city fibre line and ONT fitted on 07/01/2026 for Sky gigafast 5+.  Line still not activated so Sky talk hasn't worked since install and Broadband is running v.slow.  Can't monitor it as gigafast hub still not showing on the My Sky app.  It's been a total shambles.  Anyone else experiencing the same.....

@Liz007 If the line is not activated, why would you expect a change to anything as yet?

Because I was told by Sky and city fiber that the activation date was 07/01/2026 once the ONT had been installed.

@Liz007 what are Sky telling you when you call them? If you have a connection via the ONT then the line is active. While you wont get anything like 5Gb/s to axsingle device over Ethernet or WiFi you should get up to 1 Gb/s

@Liz007 Ok see what you are saying now, with the timescale you say, CF Installed and activated the ONT to the Network connection and said you are good to go is that correct so far, now sky came along gave you the new Gigafast+ Hub but have failed to actvate the system for you and your are now down hard in that combination or have at least a limp along currently on the connection.....

Getting the 5Gb/s speed single device takes a bit off doing on a device and you will need a high speed Ethernet Nic in a capable device to get anywhere near close, wireless wifi will be a struggle, but combined Ethernet/Wireless if your device can do so might not be to far off!
