Flashing green light following gigafast instalation
Apologies for the long rant. We decided to upgrade to the gigafast broadband, as our son does a lot of gaming. An engineer came out, fitted the ONT box and wiring, but was unable to connect us to the network, due to access issues. He said that the civil engineers had to attend to resolve this issue. So, we didn't hear anything from Sky, but whilst we were on holiday the following week somebody attended our property, unannounced, and did something (sky couldn't find out what, and we have cctv), luckily we returned from holiday the following day. When we arrived home, we had no internet at all, including our home security and tv. I immediately contacted sky, to be met with THE worst attitude that I have ever heard, useless is an understatement, I won't mention names, as I feel that is unfair on an open forum. To skip all the pointless phone calls, etc, Sky have done nothing to help, and we are now past day 8 with no Internet. I have managed the old school method of terrestrial tv, so at least we have something to watch, but we are chewing through data very quickly, God bless the piggyback. Guys, Sky have dealt with this awfully. Myself and my wife work in High Risk jobs, so our home security is important to us. Admittedly, I have arranged some old school home security, but that's not the point. The Sky technical team are horrendous, and do not have a clue, they are basically patsy's, put in place to appear that something is being done, when it isn't. I have now switched to Virgin Media, which yes, there is a wait, but I am not paying for anything, as I WAS with Sky. Sadly I have always been an advocate of Sky and I spend a lot of money on their productes, but they are just in disarray and have no idea of what they are doing. If you are unhappy with Sky, my recommendation is to switch, but only if you are unhappy with Sky. They do not have the monopoly anymore

Sky never had anything like a monopoly on broadband provision: they were rather late to the ISP industry...
Of the Openreach ISPs, BT (together with its EE and Plusnet brands) has well over twice as many subscribers as Sky.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: Flashing green light following gigafast instalation
@Hughsey Sky do rely on OR having all the ducks in a row lined up, sometimes the middle duck is gone and that bridge is just to hard to get over, think Sept 2024 order and installed 18th Jun 2025, that is what you call a delay all caused by your friends at VM....
