Fibre cable

I just received my fibre conversion kit which consists of one short fibre cable I’m assuming this will connect the new outlet to my router. My current outlet /socket is 3-4 meters away from my router and the cable is fixed along the skirting board. (Done by sky engineer). Will they supply a longer cable as I don’t want to move my router

@GKW  If you want t longer ethernet cable from the router to the ONT you will have to buy one, sky only supply the one length

Re: Fibre cable

What should I order. I'd like to have it before they install. Want to make sure I have the correct cable

@GKW Cat5E at a minimum, that will give you a gigabit connection, you can get cat 6 or 7 if you're future proofing, but for now it may be overkill.

@GKW

Cat6A is fine for any speed which the national optical network is ever likely to deliver.

Note that all ethernet is 8-strand copper: the optical connection ends at the ONT.
