Failure to provide the Service that we have been paying since the 13 September this Year!! We were

The promised Landline has not been provided thus far and as such, we cannot make emergency calls should the need arise !

As we are both in our late 70's , this is totally unacceptable!

we have pursued this matter at least twice a week since September and have been fobbed off with a promise of a phone call in response. All we ever  receive is a Text Message stating that ' an Engineer is looking in to the problem and SKY will get back to us ' ! Total Balloney or even worse ! We are paying for a Service not yet provided! We, as the ' Third Party ' should not even have the need to suffer such Stress at our time of life ! We were warned that this might happen and guess what ? It most certainly has ! Such a disappointment!! 😡🥸

The difficulty maybe owing to the fact that analgue public switch telephone network (PTSN) is being phased out currently and is due to be completed around all the country by 2027. The line you have maybe avalable by a system known as Voice of Internet Protocol (VoIP) but this system needs a backup supply for the phone, router and optical network terminal (ONT) if the premises is feed directly by full-fibre.

There is surposed to be Ofcom rules in place for vulnerable or older people in this situation but clearly the protocols haven't been followed and you've been left in the dark, I'm sure somebody will be along from Sky or a superuser to esculate this post for the important emergency phone you need shortly.

Recommend this post is esculated to Sky.

These are the regulation by Ofcom concerning emergency phone and backup supply provision, that Sky when looking at this when it is esculated should be aware of in deciding a course of action for OP:
