No, that's specific to BT Broadband FTTP, a BT Smart Hub 2 and BT Digital Voice handsets.

Just buy a normal telephone extension cable.

You can move the Hub further from the ONT with any Cat5e or better ethernet cable.

It's also possible to connect any DECT base station to the 'phone' port on the Sky Broadband Hub and use matching DECT phones.

Re: FTTP Questions

So is there a version out there that would work with any router?

Not that I'm aware of: the BT system is proprietary to their Digital Voice product suite.

Re: FTTP Questions

The phone port on the router is simply an ATA interface so any DECT base unit or phone will work.

Re: FTTP Questions

So there is nothing that will connect in to the phone port and then have a receiver like above?

Re: FTTP Questions

I don't understand what you're asking?

You can connect anything you want into the phone port - ie a phone/DECT unit/whatever. Its exactly the same as the master socket/telephone extension sockets you had before. No difference.

Indeed. Anything he could connect before FTTP he still can would have been clearer 🙂

Re: FTTP Questions

There are thousands of DECT extenders on the market. Have a look for them.

Either black magic or fairy dust, I'd imagine.

Seriously, a set of cordless (DECT) phones with however many handsets you need is the answer.  The 'base' unit plugs into the Broadband Hub phone port (on a longer lead if you wish), and the other handsets talk to the base using a particular variety of wireless communication: they use internal batteries and each has a charging stand.
