Hi all,
The sky router is limited to 100mbps download from its LAN ports, however via wifi I get around 400mbps, I'd rather use ethernet as it is much more consistent when it comes to gaming. I'm aware I could buy a third party router, but how does one even set that up? If anyone can point me in the right direction as to how I can get past these slower download speeds I would much appreciate it.
Also my PC does not have a wifi card, of course I could buy one for quite cheap but running ethernet would be preferable

Only the effectively obsolete 2013 Sky Hub is 100Mbs. The Q Hub, Sky Broadband Hub and Max Hub models are all gigabit ethernet.

So the limitation is likely either a VERY old ethernet card/chipset in whatever device(s) your connecting to, or more likely, substandard ethernet cables. Anything cat5e or above should be capable of gigabit speed. Check for labelling on the sleeve of the ethernet cable.

@Charlie0 I would also check the link speed on your PC by clicking going to settings, >>>Network & internet >>> Ethernet >>> Link speed.
If its 1000/1000 then you have a Gigabit connection but if its 100 then it's your pc limiting Ethernet speed, not the router

It would seem I was mistaken , when I did a quick google it said that the sky hub had 100mbps lan ports, but looking further into the actual specs list it says they are all 1gb. I have set the speed in my driver config for the ethernet to be at 1gb but it stays at 100/100. So the likely hood is that the cable is the issue.
Thanks for the help 🙂

I havent checked any of the hub settings, its not under my name. I'll have a look at them tomorrow, but it seems I was wrong and the SR203 ports are actually 1gb? If thats the case its likely that my cable is in need of replacing.

'Sky Hub' is the specific marketing name of the SR102 model from 2013, so that's actually correct, but unfortunately also misleading: only a small number of users with very longstanding Sky broadband subscriptions still have those in use.
The SR203 is the 'Sky Broadband Hub' from 2019 and has gigabit ethernet, as does the 'Q Hub' from 2016.
