Download speed

Since upgrading my contract my download speed has been really low and my roku device no longer connects in my daughters room. I have tried everything. When testing the download speed it is always extremely low. When moving onto the new contract i needed 3 x holes in my walls and it has made the internet worse. Please advise.

@Samhopkins assume you switched to a full fibre service while that can inprove speeds to the hub it wont improve tge WiFi connection between the hub and your devices. Indeed thst can become worse if the hub is in a different place. First check the hub is in the best pisition possible which is off the floor on a surface out in the open. You may need a longer Ethernet cable to connect the hub to the ONT unit these are easy to buy in any liength you want..

 

To stream video using a roku device needs a decdnt wifi connection which sounds to be marginal in your daughter's room. Again as with the hub makecsure the streaming device is out in the open - people love hiding these behind the TV which is a lousy place to get WiFi.- but you may well need a booster which Sky will supply if you ask and psy for their WiFi Max bundle.

Hi there, my rputer has alaways been kept in the same place which is in thebhallway diwnstairs in the open with no othe electronic devices near by. When checking my download speed on varias checkers, it is extremely low, below 10mps. Something isnt right. This needs to be resolved.
