Download speed does not meet guarantee
My download speed is terrible, it does not get up to 16mps and never has achieved those speeds. Virgin are now in the area and offer hundreds of megs per second and good download speeds. I'm looking to change provider as I'm not paying more for an inferior service that does not live up to what is should.

Re: Download speed does not meet guarantee
@Kelvin93 how are you measuring speeds. If its on a device connected by WiFi it is likely you end up measuring the speed of the WiFi connection in your home. Buying the fastest possible broadband wont necessarily improve those speeds. Virgin and Sky hubs normally have very similar wifi performance.

Re: Download speed does not meet guarantee
I've went off multiple devices in my home. One being right next to the router and another being upstairs. Do you have a preferred test for download speeds?
I've been offered download speeds of 132mps from your competitor at a cheaper rate than I'm currently paying.

Only a device connected by ethernet cable removes the local wireless environment as a factor.

Not our competitor: only other Sky customers are likely to respond to a forum post.

If you are on a copper connection then Sky fibre would possibly be able to also offer 'hundreds of megs per second' as well.
If you put in your address here https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome and post up in this thread then we'd be able to give you an informed answer. Please blank out your address before posting.

Ignore this post, thought it linked to sky enployees. I'll speak to them directly but Virgin are offering better speeds and prices as an FYI

Re: Download speed does not meet guarantee
Virgin can always offer higher speed bands over their own private coaxial cable network than is physically possible for any ISP using Openreach copper phone lines (FTTC)
Watch out for the end of minimum term price jump though.
