Downgrading

Hello, Just after advise, i have sky q and broadband package. Im looking at my options to downgrade and remove sky tv. I understand sky q box will be returned or not work if i keep broadband which im happy to. Can someone techinally help me, if i remove sky q and just have sky broadband package, do you remove the sky dish as well? Or can i just buy a free sat box and plug into cables that the dish connected to? I tried asking this in live chat and all they want to do is sell you something? I just want to know if i just have sky broadband, how can i view free view channels after the tv package has ended? Any pointers be greatful

Many Thanks

Richard

@Painfulcoin If you cancel Sky TV they don't remove the dish, you can use a freesat box but it will need to be one of the newer 4K ones that can use the LNB that was installed for Sky Q.

Re: Downgrading

You can buy replacement LNBs for the dish quite cheaply from Screwfix if your equipment is not compatible with sky Q depending on how confident you are in using ladders it's fairly easy to swap them over Your television might have a satellite input for either Freesat or the generic free channels ( LG ones do as I have a couple of them) which will save you buying a Freesat box
