Do I need an Engineer visit

Hi,

I hope you can help.

I have recently moved into a new home with an open reach box already installed,

When I ordered my package through sky, however, I'm being told I need an engineer to come and install it. With the earliest appointment being 3 weeks away, I can't go that long without internet due to working from home.

My question is - can I not just get remote activation?

any advice helpful.

thank you

@jetts14 It will take a minimum of 10 working days even for a remote activation, however if Sky are insistant that an engineer visit is needed then you may need to call to see why.

@jetts14

That will be the earliest available activation date and I'm afraid as Sky broadband discussed here is a domestic service those working from home get no extra or quicker service. My son joined Sky in December and waited 3 weeks.

Re: Do I need an Engineer visit

@jetts14 You certainly can get and would expect the remote activation especially if you look at the ONT and see what the lights are like, and if OR decide it's 3 weeks to get round to you, and have advised sky so then they have passed on the information too you, nothing is written in stone until you have the formal e-mail and get the formal installation date from sky! See what the e-mail say's you would have recieved!
