Do I need Sky Max with Full Fibre 500?

I was contacted by Sky last year to upgrade to Full Fibre 500 as fibre was now available in my area. They sent me a white hub and a plug in pod. I had to speak to them today regarding a different issue & whilst on the phone the guy told me I didn't need Max as I had Full Fibre 500 so they would take it off. My concern is why was I on Sky Max in the first place if I didn't need it and will not having it cause any problems?

It's means you don't have the guarantee of WIFI covering every corner of your house.

I've already read that but it doesn't seem to answer my question?

If you don't keep the WiFi Max subscription supplement on the account then they'd want that booster pod back.

Re: Do I need Sky Max with Full Fibre 500?

@Its-Polly Your answer, did you have sky boost with your older product before the FF Full Fibre upgrade, did you require any off the boost features, they are all similar to the sky Max which NOW replaces sky Boost in area's were it all works....

No Max is not required to work on a FF500 feed, the older sky Broadband hub/sky Broadband Booster would work and do fine on a FF500 connection!

If you cancel it all, expect to send the booster back on sky's request and any other features that the package includes will be removed!

The information given to you by the Customer Service may or may not have been correct, no one knows what your conversation was with them!

If your question is

"Do I need Sky Max with Full Fibre 500?" as per the thread title, the answer is it has nothing to do with the Full Fibre 500. It depends on how effectively the WIFI covers your house.

Re: Do I need Sky Max with Full Fibre 500?

I sent the old hub and booster back as requested when they sent me the white hub. Surely they won't expect me to send the new white one back as that will mean I won't have a hub? I wish they would have been clearer in the first place

@Its-Polly Look at the two links below for them and say what you sent back! And looks like you had the old Sky Boost package, so you would have been offered the replacement sky Max package...

They can choose to replace it with the older Sky Broadband Hub.

Re: Do I need Sky Max with Full Fibre 500?

Surely the original question is just about whether having Full Fibre 500 means you don't need a booster. And the answer is having Full Fibre 500 doesn't automatically negate the need for a booster.

Re: Do I need Sky Max with Full Fibre 500?

@splatto From the post ""I sent the old hub and booster back as requested "" suggest's the old boost package was in use and a POD would be required to cover the wifi signal!

Re: Do I need Sky Max with Full Fibre 500?

@JimM1 I know. But according to the opening post someone at Sky has told her she doesn't need the booster because she's on Full Fibre 500, which is total nonsense. She seemed to be just asking for clarification on that point.

Re: Do I need Sky Max with Full Fibre 500?

@splatto Yes correct but that is why i included further down because i suspected that Boost was involved which Max replaces!

""The information given to you by the Customer Service may or may not have been correct, no one knows what your conversation was with them!""

The old SR203 with a SE210 covers a home fairly well, but it IS NOT mesh for the older SE210!
