Do I ned to use the Sky Hub? I have a much faster ASUS router

I am switiching to Sky broadband in a couple of days and I was wondering if I need t use the Sky Hub? I alrerady use an ASUS router which has more connections, WiFi 7 and is much more capable at handling 4K streaming and gaming.

Hi @RedK8ng

No you dont have to use the Sky hub if you dont want to. Most routers should be able to connect to your line if you have FTTP & and an ONT. Its a little more difficult if your still on FTTC, you would need a modem or router with modem built in.

Also note you wont be able to have a landline if you dont use the Sky hub.

@RedK8ng Only issue i had moving from EE to Sky was the setting to get iPv6 to operate, if you search XT8 on the Forum you will come accross the setting applied, posting was in Jul time! Can link it if you need or cannot find!👍

When EE stopped working I just reset the router and boom on Sky, all devices working and speed is as fast as EE.
Nothing has ever worked as quick as that without any issues. I am seriously impressed
