Dissatisfaction with Sky Customer Service agents.

Speed almost non existant. speed test show very low internet speed.  Sky customer service told me it was a proble with my computer.I mad several speed tet and was finally able to get 30 to 35.   I'm a reitred computer systems manager for several years and based on my experience I believe the issue with slow speed is a very low system band width..  Based on my daily use of the internet this is a constant issue with the internet speed provided my Sky the up or down numer of  users on the system determine the internet speed..  After being on the phone with Sky Customer Service for several minutes all they came up with was that it was my comuter and that I needed  to upgrade my computer system.  Twenty minutes after my conversation with Sky rep my system spped was back up to 30-35 mps..  Npormal spped at mid day is terrible--definetly a factor of number of users on line caused the slow speed.  HIGHLY SKY UPGRADE THE BAND WIDTH!!!  RETIRED INFORMAITON SYSTEMS EXECUTIVE!!!

@HANKH as someone who is also retired with a background in managing tech  I am only too aware that issues like contention where too many users were using a limited bandwidth pipe which were a major considerstion are largely no longer a serious issue due to huge increase in network capacity that have happened in the last 5 years. The connection to the exchange managing your fibre connection will be over high capacity fibre from there to the cabinet is also over a fibre that can carry 2.48Gb/s admittedly shared between a number of users but given the maximum a user can use is 80Mb/s it is extremly rare to have issues there. Therefore speed issues are over whelmingly down to the line or the home network.

Not argueing thst you dont have an issue but to find out the cause we need more information. Canyou post your hub's connection stats assuming you have a black hub see Find your Sky Broadband router statistics Also important is how the device you are using to run the speed tests is networked.
