Delay in Setting up wifi

Ordered sky broadband on 25/08/25 and was told it would be ready by 09/10/25 (including drilling a few holes to connect fibre cables).

I then got a message saying it was delayed until 8/10/25. Why has this happened and what am I supposed to do in the meantime with no wifi?! (5 people in the house needing wifi for work)

@Rob338 All dates are proposed until finalised, and 1 day earlier so not too bad than you were given!

No-one here can tell you that: typically it's because Openreach hasn't been able to schedule the necessary resources.

Sky Broadband is a domestic service, and like most ISPs they don't offer a temporary solution for delayed provisioning.  You could choose to acquire a cellular router and suitable SIM and then use to delayed activation compensation to cover some or all of the cost.

I suspect there's a typo in the original post and the date has moved by a month (10/9 to 8/10)

A one month calendar shift seems to happen quite a lot with Openreach.

@TimmyBGood Got it, never considered the OP got it wrong to start with and not sure if anyone every looks at the info sky sends them with regards to the upto 90 day's for it all to take effect in! Did not matter for me, change over was done in 5 day's from order to live!
